Now is the time to add the text to your website. What do you want to say to your readers? What is the best way to say it?
First of all, follow these rules and you should do fairly well with your website:
Make it interesting and informative
This is always a good idea, but it can be difficult sometimes. Just like with this site, I am constantly asking myself if it is easy enough, informative enough and interesting enough to help the reader and keep their attention? When I build a light hearted site like www.funnycopblog.com , I ask "is it entertaining enough?" Of course, what may seem entertaining to me may bore you to tears but I am looking for my niche audience that is into the things that I am into.
Stay on topic with your website text
You want the text on each page to refer to your page title and description. Do not have a title like"swimming pool ratings" and have a bunch of text that takes about your swimming abilities. The search engines are looking for content that reflects what the page is about. Do not try to be sneaky to get a few hits to your site. There are a lot of sites out there that seem to talk about one subject but are really about something else, or just trying to draw you in to a page with no content and all advertising. These sites are typically found by the search engines and eventually drop like a rock from the search ranking or get dropped all together. If this happens, you can always change things and submit to search engines like Google for reconsideration, but you have a long wait ahead. Just keep it informative and relevant as possible and this shouldn't be a problem.
Do what you know and/or love
Take a subject that you know and enjoy or put a website together that really tries to help its readers. There are plenty of other people that know a lot more than I do when it comes to website and design. I am a novice, but I know enough to make a little money and I am so excited that I want to share it!
I didn't have thousands to spend to have someone do it for me so I did it myself. I don't expect to be able to ever take a picture of my 4.3 million dollar home with the $ 250,000.00 car in front. I just want to get to the point that I have a few extra bucks and can do better for my family and maybe even have a nice nest egg built up. The point is, I love doing this and it works. The text on my pages is about a subject that I am excited about and I find interesting to talk about. Designing a money making website is all about the text that you type or the content on your website pages.
Adding pictures to your money making site
I sure that you have seen a lot of beautiful websites out there with animated flash and awesome pictures. I use a lot of pictures that people have submitted of police cars and fire trucks on my copblog site. Of course, the only bad thing is if someone has dial up internet, it can take a long time to load them all. Thankfully, the majority of us in the US have a higher speed DSL or cable connection and pictures and even video aren't much of a problem. If you want to add some pictures or animated flash, go for it. But never lose focus of the fact that you are trying to get people to see the content on your site. If pictures help and make it look better then that is the way to go.
